our history
With over 50 years of combined expertise across mining, construction, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and commodity trading, Elderberry ZA has evolved into a powerhouse of integrated industrial solutions with a proudly African identity. Our journey began with the founding of Elderberry Trading, a procurement-led business focused on sourcing and supplying critical goods and services to support Africa’s industrial and infrastructure development. Leveraging strong global and local partnerships with leading OEMs, we established direct access to high-quality machinery, pipes, components, and systems vital to our clients’ operations.
As Africa’s challenges and opportunities became more complex, our vision to own and operate across the entire value chain took shape. This led to the strategic expansion of the Group through the formation of Elderberry Mining SA and Elderberry Consulting Engineers. These subsidiaries allowed us to broaden our scope, from equipment supply to owning, operating mineral assets and trading commodities, managing large-scale EPCM projects, and delivering multidisciplinary engineering consulting services across mining, water & sanitation, infrastructure construction, retail, commercial and industrial sectors.
Together, these entities form a fully integrated ecosystem, enabling us to support our clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from concept and design, to execution, operations, and long-term asset management.
